The MND and Me Foundation is committed to improving the lives of those impacted by Motor Neurone Disease. The Foundation has established partnerships with a number of specialist providers to ensure Queenslanders with MND have timely access to much needed information, equipment and care services.

We have worked together to design targetted workshops and information sessions, face-to-face meetings and online forums. Our aim is to provide the right information to right person at the right time, so people with MND and their Carers can access care, equipment and support to match their individual circumstances.

We recently conducted a Symptom Management workshop in North Brisbane for over 50 attendees.  The workshop was facilitated by RBHW’s Nicole Hutchinson (Clinical Nurse, Consultant MND) and Anna Farrell PHD (Allied Health Principal Research Fellow and Speech Pathology Research Coordinator) and was extremely well received. 

All of the participants were generous in their praise of Nicole and Anna – from the timely and relevant content of the presentation through to the robust Q&A session.

A HUGE thanks to Nicole and Anna on their extraordinary efforts in helping to assist members of the MND community maintain a quality of life through better symptom management.

The MND and Me Foundation also conducts FREE MND Information Sessions – specifically designed for people who are newly diagnosed with motor neurone disease.

Guest speakers for our February session include Dr Robert Henderson who will provide an overview of MND, Dr Shyuan Ngo and Dr Fredrick Steyn who will provide an overview of MND research and the benefits of participating, and Mr Paul Olds who will provide an overview of the support services available to newly diagnosed people and their families.
